NORTH VERSAILLES, Pa. — A woman is accused of leaving her young granddaughter in a car while she shopped Friday night in North Versailles, police said.
Karen Hughes, 56, of McKeesport, is charged with endangering the welfare of a child after allegedly leaving her 3-year-old granddaughter in the car while she shopped at a Goodwill store.
Police said the girl was left in the car with a window barely open for more than a half hour. She has since been placed in the custody of her parents.
