Woman critical after getting hit by car

CARRICK, Pa. — A woman was rushed to an area hospital Friday morning after getting hit by a car in Carrick.

Dispatchers from 911 said the accident was reported about 6:30 a.m. at the intersection of Brownsville Road and Woodford Avenue.

The woman, whose name has not been released, was in critical condition when she was taken to the hospital, police said.

Brownsville Road was briefly shut down while police investigated and cleared the scene.
