Woman killed in Fawn Twp. head-on crash

FAWN TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A 71-year-old woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash Monday afternoon in Fawn Township.

Authorities said the accident was reported on Bull Creek Road just before 12:30 p.m.

According to police at the scene, the woman's car was rounding a bend in the road when it crossed the center line into the path of a dump truck traveling in the opposite direction.

Officials believe the woman may have suffered from a medical condition.

"I was in my living room and heard the truck go over the road, and then I heard the loud impact," said Kristina Fruit who lives nearby.

Skid marks show the truck driver's attempt to avoid hitting the woman's sedan.

"It looks like the truck had no time to react," said Fawn Township Police Chief Tim Mayberry.

Neighbors said it's not the first time the road has claimed a life.

"I've seen a few accidents here in the past," said John Howard.
