APPLEWOLD BOROUGH, Pa. - The mother of Armstrong County commissioner Richard Fink died Sunday morning in a house fire in Applewold, Borough, authorities said.
Armstrong County coroner Robert Bower said the body of Mary Fink, 79, was found in the kitchen on the first floor of her Franklin Street home. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Chief Mark Feeney of the East Franklin Volunteer Fire Department said the fire, which broke out around 7:30 a.m., apparently started in the back corner of the first floor.
The cause is not yet known.
