ELLSWORTH, Pa. — A Washington County man has been charged in a fatal hit-and-run accident Friday night in Ellsworth.
Brittany Chapman, 29, of Scenery Hill, was walking along the northbound lane of South Main Street about 8:40 p.m. when she was struck by a pickup truck driven by Robert Myers Jr., 42, police said. Myers, who was traveling southbound, never stopped.
Police charged Myers on Saturday with homicide by vehicle while driving under the influence, among other charges.
He is being held without bail at the Washington County Prison.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Aug. 27.
