PITTSBURGH - Emergency workers rescued a woman who was trapped in her car after a crash involving a fire truck Thursday night in the West End.
Authorities said the crash was reported just after 5 p.m. at the intersection of Wabash and South Main streets.
The woman suffered head and back injuries in the crash, and was taken by ambulance to an area hospital. Her name has not been released.
Investigators at the scene said the fire truck was on its way to a call when the accident happened.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
