• Woman rescued from Shaler Township hillside

SHALER TOWNSHIP, Pa. - A woman was rescued from a Shaler Township hillside on Friday.

Cherry City Volunteer Fire Chief Jim Skalos told Channel 11 that the woman was walking on a trail when she fell down a steep hillside.

Rescue crews climbed up the hillside and put the woman in a rescue basket.

"They called us to do a rope rescue. We sent guys up. They did a bit of a relay system to get the patient down," said Skalos.

Medical crews said the woman may have suffered a broken femur.  Her name and condition have not been released.
