Woman thrown from car into creek rescued after several hours in Fayette County

FAYETTE COUNTY, Pa. — Emergency crews said they rescued a woman who was thrown from her sport utility vehicle and into a creek in Fayette County Sunday.

Officials said the woman was reported missing by her boyfriend after she didn't show up for work.

Police said they found her lying in the snow and creek, nearly 30 yards away from her vehicle in Nicholson Township.

Emergency crews said they think the woman may have been out in the cold for more than five hours. She was flown to a Morgantown hospital to be treated for hypothermia and head injuries. The woman's condition was not released.
