Longest swing in the world could belong to Red Bull

AUSTRIA — The Red Bull Skydive Team pushed themselves to new limits this week as they attempted to set a new world record for the longest swing in the world.

Swooping from below two hot air balloons, the daredevils dropped on giant swings through the air for more than 400 feet before flipping off the contraption and parachuting to the ground.

After intensive planning, the crew made the attempt in perfect weather conditions high up in the sky above Austria.

Dominik Roithmair was one of the skydivers:  "The goal of the project Megaswing was to go mad with the balloons. To have the possibility to really jump from one balloon and swing to the other with a really long long rope, is something that has never happened before and is for sure a childhood dream. If you ever jumped of a swing you always imagined to jump forever."

The two hot air balloons used were placed at a height of around five-thousand feet, with one used as an anchor for the swing and another from which the divers jumped.

The world record swing of 410 feet is awaiting official approval.
