CHIMBOTE, Peru — Two sad-looking penguins found wandering around a rural area near a coastal town in Peru were rescued over the weekend.
A woman said she saw the two Humboldt penguins near an irrigation ditch along a country road a few days ago.
She said she took them to a relative's house, but the birds wouldn't eat and she became worried and called police.
Police picked them up Sunday.

They've been named "Cabo" and "Kowalski" after the two penguins in the movie "Madagascar."
Police officers quickly took to the birds and began feeding them.
The penguins will be turned over to Peruvian wildlife officers so they will receive appropriate care.
