Man admits to setting Knoxville duplex on fire, police say

PITTSBURGH — A man was arrested Tuesday in connection with a fire in Pittsburgh’s Knoxville neighborhood.

Firefighters were called to a duplex on Bausman Street shortly after 2:30 a.m.

Police arrested 46-year-old Brandon Bradley and charged him with arson. According to investigators, Bradley lives downstairs and admitted to setting the fire.

A criminal complaint obtained by Channel 11 News says that Bradley used a lighter to set curtains on fire because, "There was an inspection done by Section 8 on his apartment and it was not good.”

A woman who lives upstairs was not hurt, but her home was badly damaged.

The American Red Cross is helping her.

Bradley was in the Allegheny County jail Tuesday.

Damage to the duplex is estimated to be $25,000.
