Man dies after being shot in face outside Pittsburgh home

PITTSBURGH — A man died early Tuesday after he was shot in the face in Pittsburgh’s Allentown neighborhood.

Police said 20-year-old Christopher Rodriguez was shot shortly after midnight on the back patio of a home on Arlington Avenue. Rodriguez made his way inside the house, where he died.

A woman who was inside the house was not hurt.

Neighbors told Channel 11 News that they heard shots being fired.

“All of a sudden, three shots went off. I knew it wasn’t firecrackers, so we came out and blue lights came past,” Brian Fallet said.

Police said it’s unclear what led to the shooting, which caught Fallet off guard.

“It’s a disconnect from the neighborhood. It’s on its way back up, so I’m happy about that, but I’ve been here 20 to 30 years and never had anything like that,” Fallet said.
