Man facing child porn charges headed to trial for 2nd sex case involving girl, 14

PITTSBURGH — A Pittsburgh-area man who was about to stand trial on child pornography charges is now headed to trial for another sex case that involves a 14-year-old girl from Ohio.

Daniel Kundrat’s alleged victim testified against him Thursday during a preliminary hearing.

Channel 11’s Renee Kaminski reported that Kundrat stared down at the defense table as the girl described what happened between her and Kundrat.

The girl testified that she met Kundrat, 33, online in February, and by April, they were in a relationship. She said Kundrat picked her up in August at her home in Ohio and drove her back to his home in Millvale, where they had sex and lived as a couple for about a month.

The girl told the judge that Kundrat told her he was 18, while she disclosed to Kundrat that she was 14.

Although Kundrat pleaded not guilty Thursday, Allegheny County police told the judge, “He admitted to all (sex) acts (the) victim testified to.”

At one point the judge asked the victim whether she was being held against her will. The girl said, “No.”

Kundrat is scheduled to go on trial in sex offender court next month on charges that he downloaded and shared more than 200 photos and videos of infants and young children.

As for the case involving the 14-year-old, the judge ordered all charges, including a felony count of unlawful contact with a minor, be held for court.
