Man Says Ex-Girlfriend Tied Him Up, Forced Sleeping Pills Down His Throat

BUTLER, Pa.,None — Butler police have issued an arrest warrant for a woman they said attacked her roommate, who happened to be her ex-boyfriend, threatened to kill him and forced sleeping pills down his throat on Saturday.

Adrienne Beachem, 46, is accused of trying to smother her roommate, James Bowen, with her pillow at an apartment along North Monroe Street, according to the Butler Eagle.

Bowens, 39, told police Beachem tried to smother him with a pillow and then bound his wrist and ankles with duct tape before forcing sleeping pills into his mouth and covering it with tape.

Bowen said he fell asleep from the medication and awoke to find he was no longer bound by tape.

"I was here all day. I don't recall hearing anything or seeing anything," said neighbotr Jeff Steiner.

Beachem faces charges of aggravated assault, simple assault, unlawful restraint and terroristic threats. Anyone with information about her whereabouts is asked to contact police.
