Man sentenced to prison after violating probation for fatal 2014 crash on I-70

CHARLEROI, Pa. — A man sentenced to house arrest for a 2014 crash that killed a Canonsburg basketball coach is headed to prison after violating his probation, Channel 11 News has learned.

Bryan Anthony, of Charleroi, pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter and aggravated assault by vehicle at a hearing in May. Since then, he violated probation by going to a casino four times, Channel 11’s Cara Sapida reported Tuesday.

The crash for which Anthony pleaded guilty forced an hours-long closure of Interstate 70 in South Strabane Township in May 2014.

Brian Anselmino, 45, who coached youth and varsity basketball in the Canon-McMillan School District and had been a star basketball player in the Ringgold School District and at Duquesne University, died in the crash. He had been on his way to watch his daughter’s volleyball game.

Anthony was resentenced Tuesday to two to 10 years in prison.
