Manhunt underway for suspected target of Wilkinsburg mass shooting

WILKINSBURG, Pa. — Lamont Powell, one of the survivors in the Wilkinsburg shooting massacre, is now wanted by police after failing to appear for a scheduled court date in an unrelated drug case.

According to the criminal docket, Powell’s free on recognizance status was revoked by Washington County Common Pleas Judge Valarie Costanzo on Tuesday after he missed the 9 a.m. appearance.%

Powell’s date in court came after Pennsylvania State Police charged him with driving while high on marijuana, driving with a suspended or revoked license, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop in 2014.

Authorities believe that Powell was likely the target in the shooting that killed multiple people, including an unborn child.
