PITTSBURGH - Andrew McCutchen was scratched from Thursday's lineup due to “discomfort” in his right shoulder.
According to Channel 11's news exchange partners at TribLIVE, McCutchen is considered day-to-day by the club. He was originally listed in Thursday's lineup.
McCutchen started in Wednesday night's game and hit his 16th home run and stole his 24th base of the season. His shoulder was iced following the game. The previous night, McCutchen made a fully extended diving grab in Tuesday's series opener vs. the Marlins.
The lineup change was announced after the clubhouse was closed prior to the game so McCutchen was not immediately available for comment.
