McKeesport Woman Charged With Beating, Burning 3-Year-Old Child

MCKEESPORT, Pa.,None — A McKeesport woman was charged with beating her boyfriend's 3-year-old child.

Asia Williams said her son was visiting his father for a week when doctors said the child was beaten so badly that he nearly died.

"With all of his injuries, they were saying it was nearly fatal," said Williams.

Police said the child suffered bruises over 85 percent of his body, a broken arm and cigarette burns to his feet. Investigators said the boy was also thrown down a flight of stairs.

"To see him laying up in the hospital in pain and crying because he can't move his legs or see out of his eye, there are no words to explain how angry I am," Williams said.

Cia Spell, 26, was charged last week in the beating. Investigators said Spell lives at the boy's father's home and was caring for the boy when he was hurt.

"A monster. That is what she is," Williams said.

Williams said her son is still recovering but is expected to return to being a healthy 3-year-old.

"When I look at him I think, 'That's my angel. God sent me an angel,'" said Williams.
