Mike Feinberg Company to close after 60 years in business

PITTSBURGH — A Strip District staple will be closing up shop next month after 60 years in business.

The Mike Feinberg Company announced that it will be closing in March.

“For me it’s alright. I’ve been here 60 years. I’ve been here from Day 1,” said Sylvia Feinberg, Mike Feinberg’s wife. “We started with bicycles. We never had all the sporting goods, and it evolved.”

Sylvia said the aisles of the store are filled with her memories. Ten years after her husband passed away, she said it was time to move on.

Longtime customer Beth Jones said she isn’t ready to let it go.

“My bridal shower, our engagement party, it’s just s shame to see something like this close,” Jones said.

There will be an official closing party March 26. The store is calling it “Mike Feinberg Day” and wants Pittsburgh to do the same.

The store won't officially closed until sometime in April.
