Woman critical after crawling out of burning mobile home

HARRISON TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A woman who suffered burns over 25 percent of her body was able to escape a mobile home fire by crawling through a window.

The fire happened around 1:40 a.m. on Pleasant Avenue in Harrison Township.

The Hilltop Hose Fire Department chief said propane tanks exploded and likely helped the flames spread quickly.

“What must have happened was one of the supply lines from the propane tanks ruptured and it was a constant fire until it went off,” said Chief Tom Wesoloski.

Tina Slomoski was taken to UPMC Mercy Hospital and is listed in critical condition.

“The police noticed she had 24 and a half percent, second and third degree burns on her body,” Wesoloski said.

Two pet cats died in the blaze. The cause remains under investigation.
