Updated:POINT MARION, Pa.,None - A southwestern Pennsylvania woman was being escorted by constables to and from the funeral of her 4-year-old son who, police say, was killed by her boyfriend.
Twenty-seven-year-old Heather Forsythe is jailed on a charge of child endangerment in the death of her son Trenton St. Clair on Sept. 13.
The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reported Forsythe got an emergency court order to attend the boy's funeral on Wednesday.
Forsythe and her live-in boyfriend, 27-year-old Patrick Haney Jr., of Point Marion, are both in the Fayette County Jail. Haney is charged with criminal homicide for allegedly beating and choking the boy before he died at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, W.Va.
Forsythe told police Haney had been abusing the boy for days and was charged for allegedly failing to stop it. Both defendants have pleaded not guilty.
