Jump Zone responds to mom who says bounce house collapsed on daughter during storm

ALLISON PARK, Pa. — A mother is demanding answers after a bounce house at Jump Zone in Allison Park collapsed on her 4-year-old daughter when a storm knocked out the power.

Juliana Montesano said she was at the Jump Zone earlier this week with her husband and four children for her 3-year-old’s birthday party when the power outage occurred. She said the bounce house that her 4-year-old daughter was in began to deflate as soon as the power went out, trapping and suffocating her underneath its weight.

“She was in there all by herself, and she was terrified. We were terrified,” Montesano said. “We were scared she was going to suffocate in there. Her dad pulled her into the netting into the back just to try and keep it from collapsing on her.”

She said her daughter was basically trapped in the dark and screaming in terror.

“I'm just thinking your place is aimed at small children. You would think the generators would be inspected like every day in case that would happen,” Montesano said.

No one was seriously hurt, but Montesano wanted a response from Jump House.

The business owner issued a statement to Channel 11 News, stating, “The staff acted quickly and was able to reunite the child with her parents promptly. The care and safety of children is our number one priority at the Jump Zone.”
