Mt. Lebanon woman killed in pedestrian accident on I-79

COLLIER TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A woman died Friday night when she was struck by a vehicle on Interstate 79 in Collier Township, Pennsylvania State Police said.

The accident happened around 6:30 p.m. in the southbound lanes of I-79 at the Kirwan Heights exit.

Police said the woman had crashed her vehicle on the Kirwan Heights ramp and was hit while attempting to walk across I-79. The driver of the vehicle that hit the woman stopped.

The Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the woman as 40-year-old Katie Musick of Mt. Lebanon.

I-79 was reduced to one lane for several hours Friday night while authorities processed the scene.
