Multi-vehicle accident shuts down Pa. Route 28 in Pittsburgh

PITTSBURGH — A Thursday evening multi-vehicle accident on state Route 28 southbound forced all lanes near the East Ohio Street exit to shut down, PennDOT said.

The accident was reported just after 5 p.m. Thursday. Channel 11 viewer photos showed a car flipped on its roof in the middle of the southbound lanes.

By 6 p.m., the crash was cleared and all lanes were reopened.

There was no immediate word of any injures or the cause of the accident.
