Michigan sheriff's deputy helps mama duck save ducklings

HOLLAND, Mich. — A Michigan sheriff's deputy has taken his oath to serve and protect to the next level as he helped a mama duck save her family.

Amanda Brooke Larson-Olsen snapped a photograph of Deputy Tony Boersema scooping ducklings from a storm drain, WXMI reported.

Larson-Olsen posted the photo to Facebook, adding, "A local sheriff went above and beyond today to safe a family."

In all, Boersema pulled 12 baby ducks from the drain, WXMI reported.
