15-Year-Old To Be Tried As Adult In Deadly Mt. Washington Bar Shooting

Man Killed After Argument Gets Out Of Control

PITTSBURGH —

A 15-year-old accused of fatally shooting a man inside a Mount Washington Bar last month will be tried as an adult.

Police said Gary Milligan fatally shot Brandon Alton, 23, of Carrick, during an argument inside Sonny’s Place on June 19 along Shiloh Street.

During the altercation, police said Milligan pulled out a revolver and shot Alton multiple times in the upper torso at point-blank range.

Alton was rushed to UPMC Presbyterian where he later died.

Police said Milligan admitted to shooting Alton after he started beating up a friend at the bar. Milligan is charged with criminal homicide and carrying a firearm without a license.
