Acting Sheriff Mullen Suffers Heart Attack

Allegheny County Acting Sheriff William P. Mullen is at Mercy Hospital in critical but stable condition.

Mullen suffered a heart attack Tuesday while playing basketball on the Southside.

A family spokesperson said Mullen is groggy, but talking with his friends and family who are at his bedside.

Mullen has been the Acting Sheriff since Nov. 1 when former Sheriff Pete DeFazio retired.
