All Charges Dropped Against Pro Wrestler Kurt Angle

A judge dropped all charges against local pro wrestler Kurt Angle.

Angle was in court Tuesday to face simple assault charges, but now Angle says he’s happy it’s all over.

“I’ve never hit a woman, never would,” said Angle. “I was brought up by my mother and father never to touch an individual in that manner and I had to go through this.”

The ex-girlfriend of Pittsburgh native Kurt Angle has agreed to drop a protection from abuse order against the professional wrestler on Monday, but Trenesha Biggers said she plans to re-file charges.

“I’m obviously disappointed about the outcome of the case, however this is not the end,” said Biggers.

The former heavyweight champion of Total Nonstop Action Wrestling was arrested on Aug. 15 in a Robinson Township strip mall parking lot.

Angle's ex-girlfriend, Trenesha Biggers, known as TSA's Rhaka Khan, said she obtained a protection order about one and a half hours prior to his arrest after the two fought the night before.

On Monday, Channel 11 News learned that Biggers agreed to withdraw the PFA and both entered into a civil order where they agreed to stay away from each other. A court hearing is still scheduled for Tuesday.

Biggers alleged that Angle had circled the lot staring at her as she sat in a coffee shop, according to a police affidavit.

Angle, 40, was charged with violating the order of protection, harassment, possession of drugs and paraphernalia, and driving with a suspended license.

"I'll continue to live my life by the law, the way I've always done. I will always abide by the law and try to be a role model in this community, and that's all I ever asked for," Angle said when all other charges were dropped against him in October.

Angle is a two-time NCAA Division I wrestling champion at Clarion University in western Pennsylvania. He won the 220-pound championship at the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta, defeating Iran's Abbas Jadidi for the gold medal, and has been a professional wrestler since 1998.

In September 2008, Angle was found not guilty of drunken driving in Moon Township outside Pittsburgh. A motorist told police Angle had cut her off while leaving a bar parking lot.
