ALLEGHENY COUNTY, Pa. —
The land, located in Pine Township, will be called the Irwin Run Conservation Area and be protected by the county.
County leaders said conserving the land will help buffer North Park and the surrounding area from new development.
The county paid just over $253,000 and used another $217,000 in environmental grants to buy the land.
