PITTSBURGH —
The Pennsylvania Restaurant Association filed an emergency injunction Thursday to stop the tax, which will begin at 6 a.m. on Jan. 1.
Local restaurant and bar owners said there is no way they'll be able to implement the drink tax by Monday. The Restaurant Association told Channel 11 that the legal battle will continue and said they plan to file for a temporary and permanent injunction.
The 10 percent tax will be used to help offset a $30 million gap in the county’s budget and to pay for public transit. Click here to read the court order handed down by the judge.
