PITTSBURGH —
Channel 11 News received the information from our news exchange partner at TribLive.
Traci Wilson, 38, of New Bethlehem, who was employed as a licensed practical nurse, is charged with a variety of crimes including institutional sexual assault because it is illegal for jail employees to have sex with inmates.
A hearing is scheduled for March 15.
According to a criminal complaint:
Wilson told investigators that she got the marijuana from a family member or friend of an inmate and was paid to take it to the inmate five or six times last year. She also brought tobacco to the inmate about a dozen times.
Wilson said she received $450 from the inmate's family or friends and another $300 check from the law firm of the inmate's attorney. The attorney was not identified and it is not known if charges have been filed. Wilson admitted having sex with the inmate.
She admitted bringing marijuana into the jail on two occasions for a second inmate and smuggling two cell phones to that inmate. She said she received $600 for smuggling those items.
Wilson is the second licensed practical nurse at the jail this year to be arrested. The first arrest came in January when a nurse was accused of dispensing a painkiller to inmates without a prescription.
