AMBRIDGE, Pa. —
Jamie Deuscht, 12, was walking past his neighbor's house along Pine Street in Ambridge when he was attacked by a pit bull that broke loose from its chains.
"I thought I was going to die," Deuscht told Channel 11's Timyka Artist.
"The dog broke its chain, broke its collar and just chased my son down the steps," said Jamie's mother, Teresa Deuscht.
"He went for this one, and he got me and then when I swung him off, he got his tooth into me," said Jamie Deuscht.
Teresa Deuscht said her child is not the first victim.
According to a police complaint, the dog's owner, Nick Young, admitted that the dog had bitten someone else in the past. He also told police that the dog hadn't had its rabies shots since 2007.
The dog is being quarantined for 10 days before being put down on June 28.
The owner is facing multiple charges.
