Attorney Disputes DNA Evidence In Dentist's Slaying

BLAIRSVILLE, Pa. —

The attorney for a trooper charged with murdering a Blairsville dentist is disputing DNA evidence in the case.

Trooper Kevin Foley is accused of beating and stabbing Dr. John Yelenic at his home in April 2006.

The DNA evidence being disputed was removed from underneath the victim's fingernails, which prosecutors allege puts Foley at the scene of the crime.

Investigators said Foley was dating and living with Yelenic's estranged wife at the time of the slaying.

Foley's trial is scheduled to begin March 4.
