AVALON, Pa. —
"One day I came home from work, and I noticed water bubbling up out of the ground," said owner Jeff Bishop.
He said he called the West View Water Authority about the water leak under his house on Semple Avenue, and they claimed to have fixed it. However, he’s still experiencing problems and now he’s being told it is his responsibility.
“They fixed it and, (in) less than a week, it blew again, and now it’s my problem,” said Bishop.
His house has pulled away from its front steps, and there is a visible crack along his yard and in his new driveway.
“I watched thousands of gallons of water run down my steps into a quarter-inch crack, and now it’s four inches,” Bishop said. “Now my house is moving.”
West View Water Authority claimed the leak was in the water line on his property and is his responsibility, but Bishop doesn’t know what to do about the problem.
“I can’t even stay in the house,” said Bishop. “I’m homeless.”
