Baby Hit In Head With Hammer, Possibly By Relative
NORTH HUNTINGDON TWP, Pa. —
An 11-month-old girl was flown to Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh Monday after being struck in the head several times with a hammer. The infant was reportedly struck after she would not stop crying. A 4-year-old male relative, possibly a cousin, is thought to be to blame in this matter.
There is no word as to where the parents of the 11-month-old were at the time of the incident. The North Huntingdon Police Department has turned over the investigation to the Westmoreland Children's Bureau and said they could not comment further on the situation until they are notified by the bureau.
The baby is said to be in critical condition and continues to be treated at Children's Hospital.
