If you love bargains this is a great time of year for deals. You will find clothing, electronics, even travel packages on sale. Target 11 Consumer Investigator Robin Taylor breaks it down. She's uncovered some real deals.

This is the time of year when new models start coming out and retailers want to make room for the new stuff, so they are slashing prices on items that have been on the shelves for a while, and that's great news for frugal shoppers.

By the time February rolls around most of us are shopped out and broke, but retail experts say it is a great month for bargains.

Now that Valentine’s Day is over lots of things are on sale. Of course there's the jewelry, the chocolate and the lingerie that didn't sell before the holiday but that's not all.

This is a great time to buy furniture. Stores want to clear out the old designs to make room for the new ones and they start discounting lines in the winter months.

At Levin furniture I found a leather sectional marked down a thousand dollars. Queen sized beds that are marked down $600, along with sofas for $500 and recliners for $200.

February is also a great time to buy electronics. There are big markdowns on televisions, surround sound systems, and even digital cameras.

“Overall February, March, April is a great time for consumers to pick up electronics," said Mark Staub a technology specialist with Best Buy.

I found a TV and home theater package discounted more than $1,600 if you buy it all together.

“If you're looking for that all in one solution that's going to be simple to hook up, this is a great way to go," said Staub.

Even 3D televisions are coming down in price. The cost of a 50 inch plasma TV we looked at was slashed by $600.

This is also a great time to buy luggage. It's before the travel season hits so prices are rock bottom, and now that the airlines are charging extra for bags you may need something new.

"Everybody's concerned about the weight of their bag and it's not just light weight suitcases, it is light weight accessories to put inside their bags,” said Matthew Frank with Specialty Luggage in downtown Pittsburgh.

With snow still on the ground, bike shops are as lonely as the Maytag repair man. The owner of West Liberty Cycles told me this a great time to negotiate a deal on a new bike or to get a discount on a tune-up.

With winter coming to an end, you'll find marvelous deals on outerwear that is marked down 60% to 80%.

I found a coat that retails for more than $300 on sale for $80 at Macy’s.

Believe it or not, February is one of the best months to buy a house. Psychologically people are still nesting so there are fewer buyers and sellers may be willing to come down in price.

This is also a great time of year to find last minute deals on travel, but you have to get the trip in before spring break rolls around and rates jump back up.
