Big Name Hollywood Film Being Shot In Pittsburgh

PITTSBURGH —

It's lights, camera, action once again in Western Pennsylvania.

The latest project is a film that's actually set in Hollywood.

"Saturday Night Live" alums Chris Kattan and Norm McDonald star in the comedy being shot in Pittsburgh.

It's one of many Hollywood productions taking advantage of Pennsylvania’s $75 million tax credit.

Smithfield productions and a studio based in Green Tree brought the movie to town and hopes Pennsylvania re-ups the film tax credit when the state budget comes up later this month.

"It’s important to be the Hollywood location. It’s a substantial economic impact," said executive producer Mike Dolan.

"The 25 percent tax credit is really alluring for us producers out in Hollywood,” said producer Mary Aloe.

This is a big name production being directed by Chris Farley’s brother, Kevin, and Kevin Berman.

Local crews and local talent were also hired for the film.

"We're going to call it Hollywood northeast. That's what they're already calling Pittsburgh back in Hollywood," Aloe said.

Several other films were recently shot in and around Pittsburgh.

They include "Shelter," "The Road," "She's Out Of My League," "Zack and Miri," "Adventureland" and "Homecoming."
