Billy Ray Cyrus Meets Namesake At Pittsburgh Zoo

PITTSBURGH —

Country Singer Billy Ray Cyrus met his namesake at the Pittsburgh Zoo on Thursday.

“This is the icing on the cake to be here and to get to go in [the tiger pen] and see if this thing eats me or not,” said Cyrus.

Billy Ray’s mother, Toma, gave birth to the cub on Mother’s Day.

The country superstar said he is impressed with the zoo.

The tiger cub was named after the singer-actor by donors who chose the name in honor of a deceased family member, who had been a big fan of Billy Ray Cyrus.

Billy Ray, the tiger, will likely grow up to be about 11 feet long and weigh 450 pounds, according to the zoo.
