Body Recovered From Monongahela River Near Pittsburgh

HOMESTEAD, Pa. —

Emergency crews have pulled a body from the Monongahela River near Pittsburgh and said it may linked to a report of a person jumping from a nearby bridge.

Police said the body was found by a river rescue crew near the base of the Homestead Grays Bridge in Homestead.

Allegheny County homicide detectives are investigating.

Authorities said crews searched the river unsuccessfully Sunday after a report that someone jumped from the bridge.

Officials are not immediately releasing other information about the body or the prior report.
