BRENTWOOD, Pa. —
The girl's father, Bob Orosz, said he was getting his children ready for bed, when the child told him she was going to get a CD from the basement. Orosz said he heard his neighbors screaming, and ran outside to see what happened.
Orosz said he saw his Ford Explorer over the hillside, between two houses along Shadyway Drive.
Police said the SUV had been left in neutral, and the child apparently released the parking brake.
The girl wasn’t hurt and managed to get out of the vehicle by herself, authorities said.
Neighbors said they heard the car go over the hillside and ran outside to see what happened.
“It does look bad,” said Amanda Bartholomew, “But it sounded a lot worse.”
"It's a little bit of a miracle for me that she's alright. I could care less about the truck right now. I am just glad my little girl is OK. She kept saying, 'Daddy, I am sorry I broke your truck.' I told her, 'Honey, it's OK. I don't care about the truck, I just care that you are OK.' She said, 'I loved your truck, daddy, and I am sorry I broke it,'" Orosz said.
Orosz said he isn't sure why his daughter went to the SUV. The girl said she just wanted to sit inside.
