Brownsville Hospital To Re-Open

BROWNSVILLE, Pa. —

Brownsville General Hospital is set to re-open after being closed for more than two years.

The hospital, located in Fayette County, closed in January 2006 after having financial problems and legal battles.

While it is not unusual for a hospital to recover from bankruptcy, it is rare for any hospital to re-open after it has already been gutted and closed. However, a dedicated group of volunteers have worked hard to make sure the 92-year-old hospital lives to see another day.

The hospital will make its return on Thursday with a dedication ceremony taking place at 10 a.m.
