Bush To Give Commencement Address At Saint Vincent

Graduation To Be Held May 11

 

LATROBE, Pa. —

12:10 PM UPDATE: White House confirms Bush as commencement speaker.

10:45 AM UPDATE: A 1 p.m. news conference is scheduled in Pittsburgh to discuss the White House's decision for Bush to come to Saint Vincent.

Saint Vincent University asked President George W. Bush will deliver its commencement address.

A formal announcement is expected at 1 p.m. Monday at the Westin Hotel in Pittsburgh.

If Bush accepts, he will give his speech on May 11.

Saint Vincent is a coed Catholic liberal arts college in Latrobe that was founded in 1846.

Bush has given the commencement address at 16 institutions of higher learning, nine of which are not the military academies.

This would be his second appearance at a Catholic college and the first in the state of Pennsylvania.
