WASHINGTON, Pa. —
The crash happened shortly after 6 p.m. Saturday along Route 40 in Canton Township. A pickup truck and a car collided near Chestnut Street.
The Washington County coroner identified the victims as Joshua Lowery, 23, of Canton Township and Howard Rood, 63, of South Franklin Township.
State Police said Lowery was a passenger in the pickup and Rood was the driver of the car.
The pickup driver, Todd Drilak, 21, of Washington, was flown to a Pittsburgh hospital for unspecified injuries.
Police said Drilak's pickup crossed the center line while negotiating a bend and collided with Rood's car.
The road was closed for three hours following the crash.
