Car Fatally Hits Elderly Woman Leaving Bingo Game In Smith Twp.

 

SMITH TOWNSHIP, Pa. —

A car struck and killed an elderly woman on Route 18 in Smith Township Tuesday night.

Viola Diamond, 84, was leaving a bingo game that she regularly attended when she was struck by a car while crossing Route 18 at Baird Avenue, police said.

Anthony Jungfleish, 32, of Langeloth, was driving the car that struck and killed Diamond, officials said.

Police said a decision on whether or not to file charges against Jungfleish will be made once the incident has been investigated.
