Chase Suspects Crash In Penn Hills

 

PITTSBURGH —

A police chase Sunday morning that started in Pittsburgh ended in a crash in Penn Hills, according to police.

The chase started at about 3:45 a.m. in the area of Fifth Avenue and Kelly Street in the East End.

Pittsburgh police said Zone 5 officers initiated the pursuit because they thought a homicide suspect was inside the SUV.

The chase ended in Penn Hills when the SUV crashed on East Lemington Avenue.

The two occupants of SUV were taken to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in critical condition.

The condition of one of the injured was later upgraded to stable.

The names of the injured have not been released.
