City Officials Unveil Dedication Plaque For Oakland Bridge Project

PITTSBURGH —

City officials and members of the Oakland community gathered to unveil a plaque commemorating the Boulevard of the Allies Bridge project.

The bridge was redesigned and reconstructed to make a brand-new gateway to Oakland.

In attendance at the dedication was the son of the builder of the original bridge that had been replaced.

“It’s nice not to tear everything down just because it’s old. But to memorialize some of the things that were important to another generation,” said Bob Fay.

The ceremony was held under the bridge, where a new sidewalk was also recently built.
