Classes Resume After Homemade Bomb Found In Beechview School

No Injuries Reported

 

PITTSBURGH —

Friday, students headed back to class in Beechview after the discovery of a homemade device forced their evacuation.

Police are questioning a suspect they think may have thrown an explosive device in Beechwood Elementary School's parking lot on Thursday.

Security Increased After Bomb Scare At Beechwood School

Officials said the smoky, liquid explosive wrapped in duct tape was found around dismissal time.

The bomb squad was called in to destroy the item.

Now, parents said they fear for their children's safety.

Parent Angel Sposito said, "There's so much stuff going on in the world there's fear in everybody. Ever since 9-11 and everything that's happened, there's always that fear of something."

No one was hurt.
