Controversial Police Promotions Spark Change

City Leaders Meet About Officers' Futures

 

PITTSBURGH —

Controversial promotions on the Pittsburgh police force could spark change.

Mayor Luke Ravenstahl met with local women's groups to talk about three police officers who faced domestic abuse allegations and were promoted last week.

Ravenstahl is now saying the promotions of three police officers with domestic abuse allegations is "unacceptable."

Ravenstahl made that clear after a one-hour meeting with police leaders on Tuesday.

The mayor left open the possibly of reversing the promotions.
