Coroner Withholding Results In Saltsburg Triple Slaying

SALTSBURG, Pa. —

A coroner said he won't release autopsy results on three women found slain inside a family-owned auto glass business in Westmoreland County because authorities are concerned releasing the information could hurt their investigation.

Nobody has been charged with killing Edith Tietge, 81, of Loyalhanna; her sister, Doris Lee Murphy, 69, and Murphy's daughter, Kris Murphy, 43, both of Conemaugh.

All three were found dead April 23 inside Ferguson Glass in Saltsburg.

All three worked at Ferguson Auto Glass in Saltsburg, and each was shot in the head, police said. Their bodies were discovered later by a relative.

The district attorney has already asked a judge to seal search warrants and other documents in the case.

Coroner Ken Bacha said he's obliging a state police request to keep the autopsy results secret, too.

Kevin Murphy is the owner of the shop and is the son of Doris Murphy and brother to Kris Murphy.

According to the warrant, police requested a blood sample from Kevin Murphy so they can compare his DNA to that found on .22-caliber pistol found near the door of the shop.
