Crafton Girl Grabbed On Her Way To School

Attempted Abduction Similar To Previous Case

CRAFTON, Pa. —

Parents, students will see increased patrols Wednesday around Shafer Intermediate School after an attempted abduction.

Police said Tuesday's attempt may be connected to one in Crafton two weeks ago.

In both cases, officials said the man was hiding near a school, approached his young victim from behind then tried to force himself on her.

A 13-year-old girl was taking a short cut to school near Dubois Street around 8 a.m. when the latest incident happened.

Tuesday’s attacker is described as a white male, 5 feet 5 inches tall with a medium build. He is said to have brown, curly hair and is clean-shaven. He was wearing a white T-shirt, blue jeans, tan boots and a white headband.

Anyone with information is asked to call officials at (412) 323-7141.
